Some people are just naturally handy around the house.

If there’s a sink that needs to be fixed, lawn care that needs to be completed, or a light fixture that needs to be mounted, there’s no need to hire out home improvements when you can do it yourself.

Other people aren’t nearly as handy and may require help to complete household projects.

After all, if you’re going to take on a complicated household project, you might as well hire someone who knows what they’re doing.

If you lean more towards the handy side and are looking for a way to make some extra cash on the side, then Takl — an on-demand home service platform — is an excellent option.

In this article, we’ll give you an overview of Takl, including how it works, the types of jobs you can do, and the benefits of being a service provider.

If you’re interested, we’ll also show you what’s required to become a service provider and how you can apply.

What Is Takl?

Takl jobs: the Takl homepage

Takl is a platform for homeowners to find same-day help with household tasks and chores.

Takl provides a way for homeowners to list small jobs and for service providers to find work.

As a service provider, you can list your specialty skills, find available projects, and get paid for your services.

Takl makes it easy to get paired up with a job quickly when it’s most convenient for you.

Instead of waiting days to find your next gig, Takl allows you to find same-day assignments that can quickly bring in some extra money.

One of the nice parts is that Takl uses upfront pricing, so you’ll always know how much you’ll get paid before you take any jobs.

Let’s take a look at the different types of jobs you can do on Takl.

Types of Takl Jobs

There are countless chores and jobs you can accept through the Takl app.

You can expect to find jobs all over the board — from lawn mowing to IKEA furniture assembly to trimming tree limbs to mounting a TV.

There are very few services that you can’t offer on Takl.

To give you an idea, here is a more thorough list of some of the service categories you can provide.

  • Assembly
  • Auto and boat
  • Build your own job
  • Cleaning
  • Delivery and courier
  • Handyman
  • Hourly help
  • Housekeeping
  • Junk removal
  • Lawn and yard
  • Moving
  • Organization
  • Painting
  • Pet care
  • Seasonal
  • TV mount and electronics

As you can tell, the range of chores that you can get paid to complete through Takl is extensive.

But what are the benefits of using a service like Takl?

Benefits of Being a Takl Provider

Takl allows service providers like yourself to be their own boss, have a flexible schedule, and get paid quickly after completing your work.

The flexibility of working with Takl is pretty great.

You can log on and decide to work whenever it’s convenient for you.

You won’t have to worry about being tied to a set schedule and can even find jobs the very same day.

You also have the luxury of knowing exactly what you’ll be paid before taking a job.

With upfront pricing, there’s no room for interpretation.

The price of jobs varies depending on the type of job, the amount of work it entails, and the area you’re working in.

After you complete a job, you’ll be compensated by the rate that’s listed on the job page.

Takl will take a small percentage fee, and you’ll receive the remainder.

You can expect your payout to be sent instantly or within three business days depending on which payment option you choose.

Below, we’ll go into more detail regarding payment, but first, let’s walk through how you can get started and find work.

How to Get Started With Takl

It’s relatively quick and easy to sign up and start using Takl.

Here’s how you can get started making money with Takl in your free time.

1. Sign Up and Complete Your Registration

The first step to becoming a Takl service provider is making sure you meet their requirements.

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have experience in your offered skills
  • Own an iOS or Android smartphone that’s capable of texting
  • Provide a valid government issued ID and profile picture
  • Provide routing and account numbers to your bank account
  • Be able to pass a background check

You should also make sure that Takl is currently being offered in your area.

In order to see if Takl is available near you, head to the current service areas page.

If you meet all of these requirements, the next step is to head to the registration page on Takl.com to begin the sign-up process.

From there you’ll be required to complete a six-step registration where you’ll do the following:

  • Provide personal information and verify your account
  • Select the skills you’d like to provide
  • Complete an online orientation to teach you how to use the app
  • Provide a valid United States government ID and a profile picture
  • Provide bank account information for direct deposits
  • Pass a background check

Once you’ve successfully registered, completed your orientation, and passed a background check, it’s time to start searching for available jobs in your area.

2. View Available Chores and Make Yourself Available to Work

After you’ve listed the skills you’re available to perform, you can start looking for available jobs.

There are two types of jobs on Takl — those that are available now and those that you can do at a future date and time.

When you see a job that you’d like to complete, you’ll tap the “I’m Available” button to let the homeowner know you can do the job, however, this doesn’t mean you’ve locked in the job.

The homeowner will then choose which worker is the right fit.

If you’re chosen to complete a job, you’ll be sent a notification saying you’re the chosen worker.

Now the only thing left to do is make your way over to the job site, complete your work, and wait to receive payment.

3. Show Up, Complete the Chore, and Get Paid

It’s important to note that only some things will be provided by the homeowner.

You’ll be required to bring any tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job.

For example, if you’re fixing someone’s vehicle, you should expect to bring tools to fix the problem.

But you don’t need to pay for or provide the parts necessary to complete the job.

Once a customer has accepted your services in the app, you’re able to text them through the app regarding the job.

When the job time approaches, you’ll select “Navigation” within the app.

At that point, you’ll be able to call the customer to clarify any information regarding the job.

You’ll also be given directions within the app to help you navigate to the customer’s home.

After the job is complete, it’s time to get paid.

With Takl, you can choose between two different payment methods — instant pay and standard pay.

With instant payout, you’ll need a debit card on file and you’ll get your money after the customer approves the completed job.

While instant payouts happen instantaneously, you’ll be charged a 5% fee.

With the standard payout, you’ll need a checking account on file, and you can expect to see your money within three business days.

Although, for your first payment on the platform, it may take up to seven business days.

While this is a slower means of getting paid, you won’t be charged the 5% service fee to expedite your payment.

Make Money Doing What You Do Best

Takl is the perfect side hustle for handy home improvement gurus.

If you’re interested in finding side work or would like to pick up some extra part-time work, Takl is an excellent option.

You’ll be able to find work across a wide range of household skills, set your own schedule, and be your own boss.

As long as Takl is available in your area and you meet all of the requirements, you can start making cash on the side with quick and easy jobs in your area.
