Field Agent: A Complete Review of the Money-Making App

If you’re like many Americans, you could use a little cash on the side.

One recent study from Bankrate found that nearly half of Americans have some sort of side hustle.

However, you may find it challenging to make money on the side if you don’t have a lot of spare time on your hands.

Perhaps you’re busy trying to juggle raising a family with working a full-time job.

What can you do in these situations?

Field Agent is an app that allows you to make money with limited time through the use of your smartphone.

When working for Field Agent, you’ll help companies conduct market research and better understand their in-store experience.

In this Field Agent app review, we’ll outline everything you need to know about the platform, including how it works, how much extra money you can make, and whether it’s a worthwhile option to consider.

After reading this review, you should have a clear idea of whether the Field Agent app is right for you.

What Is the Field Agent App?

According to their website, Field Agent is an “on-demand platform for retail audits, mystery shops, digital product demonstrations, and online ratings and reviews.”

Field Agent is a middleman that connects businesses in need of data to an on-demand workforce willing to supply it.

Field Agent workers are based in seven different countries, including the United States.

Businesses can use the workforce to:

  • Find retail information
  • Conduct digital product demos
  • Analyze shopper insights

The on-demand platform relies on crowdsourcing.

To date, Field Agent has more than one million smartphones on its platform in the United States and an additional two million elsewhere in the world.

The company was first founded in 2009, to solve the problem of businesses not being able to access in-store conditions and shopper insights in real time.

The company sought to “change the way the world collects business information.”

More than 1,000 clients have worked with Field Agent to date.

This includes many big-name stores, including:

  • Walmart
  • Hershey’s
  • Kellogg’s
  • Coca-Cola
  • Johnson & Johnson

How Does the Field Agent App Work?

Those interested in working for Field Agent begin by downloading the app from their smartphone’s app store (we’ll go over sign-up details below).

Users then perform assigned tasks.

There are four primary tasks that Field Agents perform: mobile audits, mobile research, mystery shopping, and digital demos.

Mobile Audits

Mobile audits allow companies to get a look at what their customers see.

The worker provides an inside look at the store using their cell phone camera.

This is considered a form of market research, as it gives companies a chance to verify product displays and in-store marketing efforts.

Mobile audits also allow companies to implement other control checks.

For instance, they can see that a store is orderly and tidy.

They can also have workers conduct price and in-store availability checks.

Companies can also use this tool to evaluate their competitors.

The companies can have Field Agent workers go into a competitor’s store to get a look at what is and isn’t working.

In a nutshell, mobile audits grant businesses a bird’s-eye view of their stores, even when they’re not around.

It’s a tool that helps prevent minor issues from growing into severe problems.

Mobile Research

One of the other services the Field Agent app offers is mobile research.

Companies can push purchases both online and in-store to see how customers respond to the product.

They may ask customers to view or buy certain products and then offer feedback.

Similarly, companies can join customers for “mobile shopalongs” as the customer figures out what he or she wants to buy.

The mobile research tool gives businesses a glance at the consumer’s psyche.

Similarly, they can look at things like the layout of the store and the displays within the store to evaluate how customers react and how it impacts their ability to shop.

Mystery Shopping

Another task that workers can participate in on the Field Agent app is mystery shopping.

This feature uses photos and videos from the worker to convey the customer experience.

App users also fill out a customer opinion survey.

This is one of the most critical parts of this type of job, as it allows the worker to provide an in-depth explanation of what was going on inside the store.

Essentially, the workers are the eyes and ears for the company when participating in a Mystery Shopping experience.

Digital Demo

The last feature that Field Agent offers to businesses is the digital demo.

The digital demo feature is more product-focused.

While the other components have to do with testing the store and elements like the layout of merchandise, the digital demo calls for workers to try the products themselves.

The Field Agent approach to digital demonstrations drives product trials and tracks repeat purchases.

It also helps generate positive word-of-mouth about the product.

Companies can target specific workers to try their products and share their experiences online.

How Much Can You Make Using Field Agent?

If you’d like to make money online, you’re likely wondering how much Field Agent pays.

The rates depend on the jobs you take.

A Field Agent task can pay anywhere from $3 to $15.

Each data collection task takes about 30 minutes to complete.

So, you can make anywhere from $6 to $30 per hour.

There are two methods to getting paid on Field Agent.

The first is cash-based, in the form of checks or direct deposit.

The company will hold your funds until you decide to cash out.

There is no minimum required for you to collect your payout.

However, you can only cash out through your bank account and cannot use third-party apps like PayPal.

The other way you can get paid with Field Agent is through the use of “tickets.”

Field Agent offers quick questionnaires that don’t pay any money, but pay virtual tickets instead.

Each ticket job that you complete enters you into a monthly drawing.

If your name is chosen in the lottery, you’ll win a cash prize depending on how many tickets you have.

For example, if you have one ticket, you’ll win $100.

If you have up to three tickets, you’ll win $200.

Four or five tickets wins $300, and six tickets nets $500.

The process to get paid from Field Agent can take up to seven business days.

That’s because the Quality Control team needs to review your job before they’ll send your funds.

Field Agent says that its QC team works seven days a week to review jobs.

On the top left of the screen, you’ll find a menu that provides everything you need regarding job and account information.

If you click on “Find Jobs,” you can search for jobs that are available in your area.

It’s that simple.

Is Field Agent Right for You?

Whenever you come across a survey app like Field Agent, you may worry about scams and question whether the app is legit.

Field Agent is not like other survey options.

In our opinion, it’s a legitimate way to make extra cash.

The app offers small jobs that you can complete quickly from the comfort of your own home.

You don’t need any technical training or background to do so.

From that perspective, it’s much easier to get started than, say, becoming a writer or web developer.

And the work is available immediately on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Field Agent is a great app to help you make a little bit of income on the side.
