Over the past few years, the cannabis industry has grown tremendously throughout the United States.

Similarly, ridesharing and delivery services like Uber, Lyft, Postmates, and Instacart have grown as well.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise to hear that there is now a cannabis delivery service available.

Eaze is an app that provides users with access to high-quality marijuana.

No matter if you’re looking to earn some money on the side as an Eaze driver or you are someone who enjoys cannabis products and would like to take advantage of the company’s services, you’ll likely find our definitive guide useful.

Below, you’ll find the ultimate guide to Eaze, allowing you to determine if the service is worth your while.

What Is Eaze?

Eaze is an on-demand weed delivery service, providing customers with convenient access to cannabis dispensaries.

The company was founded in 2014 by Keith McCarty.

What began as a small company with four employees working out of an apartment has grown into a company with more than 100 employees.

Initially, the company began as EazeMD.

Customers could upload and verify their medical marijuana card to the EazeMD app.

They typically needed a doctor’s recommendation and ID card to gain access to marijuana.

However, with the legalization of recreational cannabis in California, the EazeMD app is now defunct.

Customers don’t need a marijuana ID card to purchase cannabis products.

The company website says that they “connect licensed retailers to customers in their area.”

Currently, the company only delivers in certain areas of California and Oregon.

However, as marijuana legalization becomes more widespread across the country, Eaze could expand outside the realms of San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles to other areas of the United States.

The Eaze app is unique because it is a “non-plant” touching business.

The company is strictly focused on software and its app.

The app connects marijuana dispensaries to customers seeking cannabis products.

Customers can download the Eaze app for both Apple and Android in their respective app stores.

Why Is Eaze Growing So Quickly?

The use of both recreational and medical marijuana has become more widespread over the past few years.

Ten states have now legalized the use of recreational marijuana products.

California has always been at the forefront of the cannabis industry.

In 1996, California became the first state to legalize medical cannabis.

Additionally, California is also home to the Silicon Valley, “Ground Zero” of the tech industry.

It should come as no surprise that the cannabis industries and tech industries have crossed paths, creating the opportunity for tremendous growth for companies like Eaze.

It appears as though Eaze is taking advantage of the opportunity.

The company has raised more than $165 million to date. Notable investors in the Eaze app include:

  • Snoop Dogg’s Casa Verde Capital
  • Winklevoss Capital
  • DCM Ventures
  • Bailey Venture Partners

How Does Eaze Work?

The Eaze app works by connecting licensed retailers to customers searching for cannabis products.

When on the app or Eaze.com site, customers can browse an array of cannabis strains and products.

Products range from flower and vape pen cartridges to cannabis oil.

Customers then pay with a credit card.

A driver will receive the order and pick it up from the local marijuana dispensary, then deliver it to the customer’s location.

If you’re interested in earning supplemental income in California or Oregon, driving for Eaze could be well worth your while.

The company guarantees its earnings — drivers are paid by the hour, not by the delivery.

Drivers also receive mileage reimbursement.

Because Eaze only works with licensed cannabis companies, it guarantees that all of its products are legal, safe, and high-quality.

Although pot delivery is convenient, Eaze does not offer 24-hour delivery.

Eaze acts as a facilitator, directing its drivers to head to a local dispensary to purchase legal cannabis.

Eaze does not have a warehouse full of marijuana.

Thus, Eaze delivery hours are limited to the hours in which local dispensaries are open.

When browsing the company website, it appears that customers can begin placing orders at noon, and can continue to do so until 10 p.m. when local dispensaries close.

Furthermore, because the company does not have its own supply, the Eaze menu is determined by the local cannabis dispensaries.

Product supply on the Eaze menu can vary depending on availability.

Is Eaze Legal?

Currently, both recreational and medical cannabis are legal in California and Oregon, so long as you can provide a driver’s license indicating that you’re at least 21 years of age.

So, in these states, Eaze is entirely legal.

Things may begin to become dicier if Eaze starts to expand to other states.

Once Eaze starts to expand, the company may need to make a distinction between hemp and marijuana.

Both hemp and marijuana are cannabis plants.

However, the primary difference between the two comes down to THC.

THC is the compound in marijuana that is responsible for the “high,” euphoric sensation.

Hemp does not contain THC, while marijuana does.

Both products contain CBD.

Studies have found that CBD can provide pain relief and could be an excellent substitute for pharmaceuticals.

However, there is a stigma around CBD oil and other similar products, with many people believing that it is illegal.

However, it’s not — the 2018 Farm Bill reclassified hemp as an agricultural product instead of a controlled substance.

The United States federal government now views hemp the same as products like corn and tobacco.

This, in essence, legalized hemp and CBD throughout the entire country.

If Eaze wishes to expand, it’s going to have to abide by local state laws.

It’s possible that they will only be allowed to deliver products free of THC.

The Eaze app could still grant customers access to things such as CBD oil, but it may not grant access to products such as marijuana.

Eaze Rates

Because Eaze only works with licensed cannabis companies, its rates are competitive.

Customers can purchase an eighth of weed for as little as $15.

They can also expect to pay a slight upcharge for the delivery fee.

Customers can also choose to tip on their order as well.

According to Glassdoor, the average hourly wage for an Eaze driver is about $16 per hour.

When factoring in tips, the average Eaze delivery driver makes approximately $35,000 per year.

Because you set your own schedule on the Eaze platform, you could work either part-time or full-time.

The Eaze driver job advertisement says that delivery specialists can make as much as $26 per hour.

If you wish to apply to be a delivery specialist, there are a few requirements you must meet, such as having a valid driver’s license and being willing to submit to a criminal background check.
