If you’re looking for a way to get designer brands at a fraction of the retail price, you need to check out Poshmark.

It’s an online marketplace where you can buy and sell the latest men’s and women’s clothing and accessories online.

It’s also a lot of fun — with special virtual events called Posh Parties where you can connect with other buyers and sellers who are interested in the same styles and brands.

Even with all the fun, however, you still have to pay for the items on Poshmark.

Wouldn’t it be great if there were a way for you to save on your first order from the site?

As it turns out, there is.

When you use a Poshmark coupon code or invite code, you can get $5 off your first purchase.

So how do you get one of these special codes?

Read on to find out.

What Are Poshmark Invite Codes?

Poshmark invite codes (also known as Poshmark promo codes or coupon codes) are a way for Poshmark to get more people to use their site.

All Poshmark users have a special invite code that they can send their friends.

When someone signs up for Poshmark with this unique code, they (and the person who referred them) get $5 in Poshmark credit.

In order to use the code, you just have to be a new user of Poshmark.

Existing Poshmark users are not eligible to apply the promo code, although they can still earn a credit for referring others (more on this in a bit).

Poshmark also states that they use “a special fraud detection engine to make sure all users are authentic and are using their own devices.”

So don’t try to do anything to manipulate the system (not that you would).

But how do you go about using a Poshmark invite code?

Don’t worry, the process is easy.

How to Apply a Poshmark Coupon Code

There are two ways to apply a Poshmark promo code.

Both accomplish the same result, but the steps differ slightly depending on if you’re signing up at Poshmark.com or on the Poshmark mobile app.

Let’s start with how to apply the code online at Poshmark.com.

First, go to the Poshmark website.

Poshmark invite code: Poshmark signup screen

From there, click whichever sign-up method you want to use.

We’re going to use “Sign up with Email,” but the steps to apply the promo code will be the same if you sign up with your Facebook or Google account.

Once you’ve clicked on the sign-up method, you’ll need to enter the following information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Username
  • Password
  • Gender (this is optional, but it helps Poshmark show you more relevant items)

After you’ve entered that information, click “Have an invite code?” before you click “Done.”

Be sure not to skip this step because you won’t be able to use the invite code after you sign up.

Once you’ve clicked there, just enter the code that your friend gave you.

If you don’t have a friend who uses Poshmark, you can use our code: HEATHERLEITH.

Once you’ve done that, click “Done” to complete the sign-up process.

You should now have $5 to spend on a Poshmark purchase.

But what if you want to sign up using the Poshmark app?

Don’t worry, you can still apply your invite code.

Here’s how to use the invite code during the in-app sign-up process.

First, you’ll need to download the Poshmark app.

Here are the links to download it for both iOS and Android:

Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it.

You should see a screen like the one below.

Tap on your preferred sign-up method.

Once again, we’re going to use email, but applying the promo code works the same way when you’re signing up with your Google or Facebook account.

From there, you’ll need to fill out the following information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Username
  • Password
  • Gender (once again, this is optional, but it does help improve the relevance of your recommended items)

At the very bottom of this sign-up screen, you’ll see a box that says “Invite Code.”

Enter the invite code your friend gave you (or use our code: HEATHERLEITH).

Once you’ve done that, just tap “Signup” to complete the process.

How to Invite Your Friends to Poshmark and Earn Free Credit

The process we just described works great if you’re a new customer.

But what if you don’t have a new account?

Can you still earn Poshmark credit?

You certainly can, though it will require a bit more effort on your part.

As we mentioned above, Poshmark gives all users a unique code that they can use to invite friends to the service.

When a friend signs up with your code, both of you will earn $5 in Posh credit.

Here are the steps you need to take in order to share your invite code with your friends.

First, open the Poshmark app and tap on your profile in the bottom right-hand corner.

From there, tap where it says “Invite Friends, Earn Cash!”

You’ll then be able to see your unique promo code (which is just your username, so it’s easy to remember).

You’ll see that Poshmark offers you a wide variety of ways to share your invite code.

Here are the methods they suggest:

  • Facebook Messenger
  • SMS
  • Email
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Tumblr

As you can see, Poshmark encourages you to share your code directly (using personal forms of communication like Messenger, text, and email).

However, they also encourage you to post it to your broader social networks.

Clicking on any of the buttons will open the relevant app and automatically generate a message with a link and your invite code.

You’re free to use the default message that Poshmark creates, but you can also personalize the message to make it more relevant to your friends.

For instance, you could send or post a picture of something you bought on Poshmark and then include your invite code in your comment on the picture.

If people can actually see the chic items you bought, then they’re more likely to try out the service for themselves.

Poshmark Invite Code FAQ

To round out this guide, here are the answers to some common questions about Poshmark invite codes.

1. Does Posh credit have any restrictions?

Posh credit (the shopping credit you get when you sign up with a promo code or a friend signs up using yours) can be used on all Poshmark items sitewide.

If Poshmark sells it, you can use your Posh credit to buy it. It can even help you get a discount off shipping costs.

2. Does Posh credit expire?

No, it does not.

As long as Poshmark continues to exist (and keeps their current terms of service), Posh credit will work for as long as your account is open and in good standing.

3. Is there a maximum amount of Posh credit that I can earn?

No, there are no limits.

As long as all of your referrals are legitimate (no bots or scams), you can earn an unlimited amount of Posh credit using your invite code.

4. How much does the average person save using Poshmark invite codes?

It’s difficult to get numbers for the average savings because it all depends on how actively you promote your invite code.

If you share it on social media and send it to your friends in an authentic, helpful way, then you could find yourself earning potentially hundreds of dollars (or even more) per month in Posh credit.

The only limits are your creativity and the size of your network.

5. Is there a minimum age to use Poshmark?

To use Poshmark, you need to be at least 13 (though you should check to make sure this doesn’t go against any state laws).

This is actually great news, however, as many other services we talk about here on Gig Worker require you to be at least 18 (or even 21 in the case of apps like Uber).

That’s why Poshmark made it on our list of The Best Online Jobs for Teens.
