No matter where you go, chances are most people are looking at their phone.

From toddlers to seniors, all eyes are glued to the small screen in the palm of their hands.

What are people looking at?

What are they doing?

These are the same questions asked by the team behind MobileXpression.

MobileXpression is a market research company that was founded to measure the activities and behavior of mobile phone users.

By creating an app that monitors your mobile usage, and rewards you for downloading it, MobileXpression aims to form a better understanding of how people are using the mobile internet today.

The company asserts that “if you hold the internet in the palm of your hand, you can shape it.”

By joining the platform, you not only help shape the internet, you can earn rewards while doing it.

What Is MobileXpression?

Think of MobileXpression as a technologically advanced surveyor or pollster.

Instead of asking you to spare a few minutes to fill out a form regarding your habits or preferences, it asks for a one-time sign-in and then automatically collects information about you.

The platform invites you to download a piece of software onto your mobile device (they currently accept either Apple or Android phones or tablets), which will then work in the background collecting data about your mobile usage.

The app also sends the occasional survey, which often requires you to watch a video or visit a website, and then asks for your feedback.

Granted, not all surveys are paid, but they’re not required.

You can tell a lot about a person by their mobile habits — what time of day they usually use their phone, the apps they prefer, how often they’re on social media, etc.

MobileXpression collects this data and combines it with other market research panels (the company is part of Comscore, Inc., an American media analytics company) to determine how people are using mobile internet: What sites do people go to?

What apps do you enjoy?

Getting data-driven answers to these questions creates a better understanding of what people want, and helps companies create more effective products and campaigns.

How MobileXpression Works

There are only four steps to join MobileXpression.

First, you have to check your eligibility.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and own a mobile device that is compatible with the platform’s software.

Generally, this means your phone should have Internet connection capabilities, but you can also contact them to verify your mobile’s compatibility.

Although the company is open to users from all countries, your acceptance will likely depend on your country’s regulations.

The next step is to review and accept their privacy policy and terms of service, which are detailed on the website.

Then, you must answer some questions about yourself and your  mobile device.

Once approved, you are then prompted to install MobileXpression’s software (MobilExpression and MobilXpression Connect) and enable the necessary permissions on your mobile device.

Joining MobileXpression can take less than five minutes, and approved applicants don’t need to do anything else.

The app quietly operates in the background — if you move the icon off your home screen, you’ll probably forget that it’s there.

How to Earn on MobileXpression

MobileXpression guarantees rewards for all its participants, and it starts with a $5 Amazon gift card for installing the app and using it for the first week.

(Note: This is for users in the U.S. Users in other countries will receive an approximate equivalent.)

New users are also automatically entered in MobileXpression’s $100,000 “Your Opinion Matters” sweepstakes.

One user is rewarded $100 every month, as well as the chance to win $2,500, $5,000, or another entry into the $100,000 sweepstakes.

Furthermore, users are given one entry for every week the app remains installed and running on your device.

In addition to cash rewards, MobileXpression gives away prizes every week.

These include raffle items such as KitchenAid cookware sets, Samsung TVs, Canon cameras, Apple iPads, and the like.

If you want something a little more interactive, you can also opt to take the mobile or web surveys sent by MobileXpression.

These don’t come frequently, but they’re still a good way to earn some extra money.

The cash value is usually displayed on the survey before you sign up, so you can easily see how much you will get paid.

These surveys usually come through the MobileXpression app (although some may be sent through email), and often redirect users to a website or video, after which you must fill out a short feedback form to receive payment.

All gift cards and payments are sent to the MobileXpression email, which is created for you during the software download.

This email serves as a dedicated means of communication between you and the MobileXpression team.

It’s also where you will receive all notifications and updates, and must therefore be set to check in with MobilXpression every 15 minutes (which can be enabled in settings and done automatically).

Other Key Factors

With offers of cash, gift cards, and sweepstakes, being a member of the community does come with perks.

However, keep in mind that there is currently no option for immediate cash payouts — most of the rewards come as gift cards, sweepstakes entries, and donations to charity.

Because MobileXpression is more of a passive source of income, it doesn’t offer a lot of active earning opportunities.

As a user, you simply let the software run in the background and go about your day, participating in occasional sweepstakes and surveys to potentially make a little extra cash.

But if you like the odds and excitement of entering sweepstakes, then downloading the app is worth a shot.

These benefits and rewards are sent as a notification to your dedicated MobileXpression email.

Should you happen to win a cash prize, the notification will also come through email before the check is sent to your registered physical address.

Although MobileXpression is free, user participation does require a certain amount of connectivity and data usage.

The software depends on your particular device, but it generally requires less than 100kb to store the research and 128kb to store the collected data.

After this, the data is securely encrypted and sent to MobileXpression servers.

The company notes that iPhone and iPad users may experience a slight delay when accessing the internet through their VPN connection.

Keeping the app running on your phone may also consume your mobile data and drain your battery.

This is especially true if you sign up for a survey, which usually requires a data-heavy video or longer website review.

As such, it may be best to be on Wi-Fi or have an unlimited data plan if you are interested in joining the platform.

MobileXpression Reviews

Privacy is a main concern when using MobileXpression.

It’s not easy to trust an app that monitors every click and tap you make on your phone.

To be fair, the company does publish its entire privacy policy online for everyone to see, and clearly details all the data they collect through their software — which is a lot.

They monitor your “normal web browsing and any activity that you undertake during secure sessions,” as well as “the content you view on the pages you visit during both normal and secure sessions, as well as any information that you submit through the websites you visit during these sessions.”

In addition to privacy concerns, some users have complained about being locked out of their account or not being able to receive any proof of payment.

On the other hand, the reviews for the actual iPhone and Android app reveal that users are enjoying the rewards and benefits.

The general consensus seems to be that while MobileXpression may have its share of glitches, it’s not a scam and users are free to uninstall the app whenever they want.

Earnings from MobileXpression aren’t as high as other apps and the data collected can be quite excessive.

However, it does offer users the potential to earn with minimal effort.

Before you decide to join, make sure to thoroughly read the fine print and user reviews.

Upwardly Mobile

MobileXpression operates on a very simple concept — it wants to collect your data, and it offers you cash and prizes to do so.

Rather than providing a steady stream of income, the app is more akin to entering a raffle or sweepstakes.

Whether it’s a $5 Amazon gift card or a $100,000 sweepstake, joining MobileXpressions may be worth considering.
