What Are Lime-S Scooters?
Lime-S scooters are dockless electric scooters that pedestrians can use throughout urban cities for a small fee. Lime scooters can be located, rented, and paid for all through the Lime pp.
If you haven’t already witnessed scooter sharing first-hand around your city, you’re in for a treat. This innovative way to get people from A to B is taking the nation and world by storm. Shared Lime scooter fleets enable users to navigate congested cities for much less than the price of other shared driving services, like Uber and Lyft.
Riders who are at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license can locate available scooters through the Lime app. Once you locate a scooter, you simply scan a QR code to unlock the scooter and then begin your journey.
Lime scooters cost $1.00 to unlock and only $0.15 per minute to ride. Once you’ve completed your ride, you locate a scooter hub, park your scooter, and scan the scooter with the Lime app to complete your transaction. It’s as easy as that.
One of the features of the Lime app is that it tells you how much “juice” each scooter has. Since these scooters are electric, they’ll need to be charged on a daily basis.
That’s where you come in!
What Does a Juicer Do?
Lime scooter Juicers are independent contractors that collect scooters with low battery, charge them in their home, and then deploy them around the city to receive immediate payment.
Without Lime scooter Juicers, the Lime fleet wouldn’t be able to operate. Scooters must be charged daily which provides side hustlers like you with an opportunity to make some extra cash.
The requirements of becoming a Lime scooter Juicer are next to none. Pretty much the only requirements are that you have a vehicle to pick up scooters, a secure place to charge them, and a smartphone with service that enables you to use the Lime app.
So how does Juicing scooters actually work?
How Does Juicing Scooters Work?
As a Lime scooter Juicer, you’ll drive around your city and collect scooters that must be charged. After you charge the scooters in your home overnight, you’ll then drop them off at designated locations in your city.
When scooters have a low battery, you’re able to drive to the scooter location and pick them up at any time. You’ll be able to tell that scooters have low battery by opening the Lime app and scanning for low battery indicators on the map.
After 9:00 p.m., you’re able to pick up any scooters that have less than 85 percent battery life. All scooters that require charging will be shown on the map within the Lime app.
Also, it’s important to note that you can only pick up and charge scooters if you have a charger for each. Chargers can be purchased from Lime for $20 during your sign up process which will go into more detail below.
If you purchase several electric scooter chargers, you’ll likely need a larger vehicle that will fit multiple scooters. The more scooters you’re able to pick up, the more money you’ll be able to make.
Lime Scooter Juicing Instructions
Once you bring the scooters into your home, you simply plug them in and charge them overnight. If a Lime scooter is at zero percent battery level, it will take about 5 to 6 hours to fully charge. A full charge is considered at least 95 percent battery.
After you charge up your scooters, you’ll need to deploy them to hubs around the city. Scooters must be delivered before 7:00 a.m. the next day to receive your full payout.
When you hop on the Juicer app, you’ll see pins on the map where you need to deliver scooters. Scooters must be fully charged and can be dropped off in groups of two to four.
Scooters also must be neatly placed and out of the way of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Somewhere between the curb and the sidewalk is a good place. Also, next to a wall or building is also appropriate since it will be out of the way of pedestrians.
After you drop off the scooters at LimeHubs around your city, you’ll confirm the drop-off on the app, scan the scooter QR code, and then take a photo that will upload onto the app.
That’s it! Then you’ll receive payment almost immediately from Lime. Let’s see how much you’ll be able to make as a Lime Juicer.
How Much Does Juicing Scooters Pay?
Depending on the demand and the difficulty of each individual charge, Juicers typically make between $5 and $12 per night, per scooter. In some cases, Juicers may even receive up to $20 for charging one scooter.
According to Lime, Juicers can make over $30 per hour and over $100 per night by picking up, charging, and redistributing scooters around town.
When you’re scanning the map to find scooters to charge, you’ll see the price that will be paid for each charge. If the demand or surge is quite high, then the reward for charging each scooter will increase.
Thinking about this on an hourly pay level, if you’re able to quickly pick up scooters that are near your home, you can make a hefty hourly wage. Charging the scooters is the easy part and can be done overnight. In a way, you’re making money in your sleep! You just need to make sure scooters are delivered before 7:00 a.m. the next morning.
To reiterate, you can pick up as many scooters as you have chargers, so the more chargers you own, the more money you can make.
Does this sound like something that’s up your alley? Then let’s get you on your way to becoming a scooter Juicer!
