Here are some of the most common questions and their answers.

1. How Do I Find a Rental Property?

Go to the homeway.com and enter where you want to go, your arrival and departure dates, and the number of guests in the form fields.

Click “search” to view your housing options.

You can narrow down your options by applying filters like location types, price per night, and various features.

You can also use the map to zoom in and out on neighborhoods you’d like to stay in.

2. How Do I See What My Rental Property Can Earn?

Start by clicking here and entering the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in your property.

Click “next” and then enter the street address of your property.

Click the blue arrow to view your rental potential.

3. How Do I List My Property for Rental?

Follow the steps in “How Do I See What My Rental Property Can Earn?” and if your rental potential is appealing, you can easily create your account by completing the checklist and completing the relevant information.

Choose between an Annual Subscription or a Pay-Per-Booking Subscription and enter your credit card information.

Read and accept the Terms & Conditions.

Your listing is now live and ready to be booked.

4. Does Homeaway Include Rental Insurance?

Homeaway recommends and offers rental insurance to renters but it isn’t automatically included with a rental.

Homeaway’s recommended rental insurance covers accidental damage by children and pets, and even from theft, as long as the rental conditions have been met.

6. What Are Trip Boards?

Trip Boards are Homeaway’s system for organizing properties for you to look at later.

You can save your favorite properties for a destination to a Trip Board by clicking the heart next to the property information.

You can share your Trip Boards with family and friends by clicking the “Share” button in the top right-hand corner of the Trip Boards detail page.

Saving properties to Trip Boards allows you to monitor changes in availability and price without having to run multiple searches.

Trip boards are tied to your account so you’ll be able to view your boards on your mobile browser or on your phone app.

To remove a property you no longer want to monitor from a Trip Board, simply click the X next to the property information.

To delete an entire list, just click the X next to the name of the area you searched.

7. How Do I Leave a Review?

Whether you are a traveler or a property owner or manager, Homeaway will expect you to complete a review after the rental has ended.

Homeaway will email you a link asking you to review your experience.

Once one party has left a review, the other has 14 days to complete their review.

Neither party will be able to see the other’s review until the 14-day period is over or both reviews have been submitted, whichever comes first.

If one party fails to complete a review during this 14-day period, they waive their ability to do so.

Once reviews are submitted, they cannot be edited by either party.

Once Homeaway has read and confirmed the reviews meet their guidelines, the reviews will be publicly published to the reviewed party’s account.
